Baring Archive featured by Bloomberg News
The Baring Archive has made the news in a Bloomberg article on the Falklands Referendum.
In 1824, Barings lead managed a £1 million bond for the State of Buenos Aires however, in 1828, the Argentine Government defaulted.
Remarkably, after some twenty years of negotiations, the Argentine Government offered to settle the debt by dropping their claim to the Falkland islands.

Oral history extracts now available online
Extracts of a series of oral history interviews are now available in an online exhibition on The Baring Archive's website.
The extracts give an insight into what it was like to work at Barings from 1940 through to the 1990s. Topics covered include the Second World War, recruitment, computerisation, globalisation and the 1995 crisis.

The Baring Archive in Hampshire
Until mid-March, visitors to Hampshire Record Office will be able to find out more about Barings. An exhibition to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of Barings is now on display in the lobby of the records centre.
Barings was founded in 1762 by John, Francis and Charles Baring.
