Hampshire Record Office
The Northbrook Papers consist of the papers accumulated by successive generations of that branch of the Baring family. The business papers are in the custody of The Baring Archive. Hampshire Record Office has custody of the remainder of the collection, including estate and family papers as well as the papers of Sir Thomas Baring [1772-1848], 1st Lord Northbrook [1796-1866], 2nd Lord Northbrook [1826-1904] and Thomas Baring [1799-1873].

Libraries and Archives Canada
In 1926 thousands of documents relating to Barings' relationship with Canada and North America were removed by Dr Adam Shortt and presented by Barings to the Canadian Government. The documents removed cover the period 1836 to 1850 and can be consulted at Library and Archives Canada at Ottawa.

In 1995 Barings became insolvent as a result of unauthorised trading and its business was acquired by ING of the Netherlands. ING is a global financial services company providing banking, investments, life insurance and retirement services. In 2008 ING loaned the Archive and historical portraits to The Baring Archive Limited, a charitable company established to manage and promote this unique historical resource.

The Baring Foundation
Established in 1969, the Baring Foundation received 74 per cent of the equity of Baring Brothers & Co, Limited and was set up to give money to charities and voluntary organisations pursuing charitable purposes. It continues to give grants today.

Lee Manor Society
In 1796 Francis Baring purchased 623 acres and a manor house at Lee near Lewisham. The Lee Manor Society was established to stimulate interest in the Lee Manor Conservation Area in the London Borough of Lewisham.
